Chief Financial Advisor
Steve Mullins is a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for multiple technology companies in the Washington, DC region.
Currently, Mr. Mullins is the CFO for several organizations including: Pascal Metrics, a Washington, DC based provider of healthcare risk analytics software, KZO Innovations, a Herndon, VA based provider of social collaboration video software used by Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to securely create or upload video products, Farragut Capital Partners, a Chevy Chase, MD based investment management firm providing private capital to finance outstanding lower-middle market companies and management teams, AppTap, a Reston, VA based provider of app discovery, app search and social discovery tools, and Always Prepped, Inc., a Rockville, MD based software company that aggregates and analyzes the most important elements of a student’s education experience.
Mr. Mullins also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Acell, Inc. and Chairman of Acell's Audit Committee. Acell, Inc. is a regenerative medicine company based in Columbia, Maryland. Mr. Mullins is also the President of SPM Consulting, a consulting firm for data-mining and database management marketing developed 26 years ago while he was a student at George Mason University.
Previously, Mr. Mullins served as the CFO for ReturnBuy, helping engineer its sale to a Fortune 200 company; Q-Mobile, one of the first mobile content providers in the United States; Secure Elements, Inc., a security technology company, which was acquired by Fortinet; Intelliworks, a CRM software solution for higher education which was acquired by Hobson’s; Rollstream, a supply-chain management software acquired by GXS, Inc. in 2011; Invincea, a desktop security company originally funded by DARPA, with patent-pending technology developed jointly with Mason’s Center for Secure Information Systems; Americans for Prosperity, a non-profit foundation focused on educating the public about free markets and regulatory policy, Bisnow Media, Inc., one of the nation’s leading event management and e-publishers in the commercial real estate marketplace, and Koofers, Inc., a social learning company transforming higher education through student-driver, intercollegiate cooperation.
From 1997-2002, Mr. Mullins worked at InteliData Technologies Corporation, a NASDAQ traded company where he served for 3 years as the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary. During Mr. Mullins’ tenure as CFO at InteliData, he was responsible for accounting and financial oversight of all 7 corporate entities with between 160-310 employees and revenue of $100 million, investor relations, internal control and compliance functions. The market capitalization of the company increased over 13 times from $30 million to $400 million, going as high as $800 million while Mr. Mullins was the CFO.
Mr. Mullins has served on the boards of several different organizations including: Transition Committee for Technology Policy, Office of the Governor-elect, Board of Directors of Secure Elements, Inc., Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s TechPAC, Appointee to the Hunter Mill District Plan Review Committee, the boards of the Annandale/Springfield National Little League and the Turnpike Basketball Club, and Treasurer of the McLean Wine Festival.
Mr. Mullins is a native of Northern Virginia. He grew up in Annandale, attended Fairfax County Public Schools, and graduated from George Mason University in 1990. He is married to Cristina Sirtori Mullins; they reside in Great Falls with their two daughters, Amanda and Sabrina who are students at Colvin Run
Elementary School in Vienna.
