Most of our services are subscriptions with ongoing support, although we also offer one-time advisory and training services. Leadership Engagement

Our senior team works with senior and clinical leadership in hospitals and healthcare systems around the world to develop the leadership necessary to support scalable, sustainable patient safety and quality programs. Our work is based on the premise that team leadership is not innate but learned. Physicians, one and all, are by definition most frequently the leaders of their teams, and nowhere is this truer than in the environments where surgery is performed. However, equally true is that the best decisions about direction and goals -- that are most likely to support reliability and safety -- accrue from a shared leadership among surgeon, anesthesiologist, nursing and other team members. This happens only with forethought, discussion about agreed-upon norms of behavior, and with practice.

Cultural Survey Subscription

Pascal Metrics is the only group worldwide that provides commercial support for the two scientifically validated cultural assessment instruments for measuring caregiver attitudes:  the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture.  Our platform is survey-agnostic, and we serve healthcare clients worldwide with additional linguistic and localization support.

Cultural Observation Subscription

Consistent with its commitment to and investment in innovation, Pascal Metrics has pioneered and offers a commercially robust observation offering that enables hospitals and healthcare systems to measure not only attitudinally but also behaviorally.  This provides yet another lens through which patient safety and quality professionals can assess a specific clinical area.  Already, among hospitals in Europe and the U.S. relying on Pascal Metrics for help are leading research and teaching institutions.

Teamwork Subscription

Pascal Metrics provides a Teamwork Subscription service intended to support ongoing culture change efforts.  We help hospitals develop full programs in teamwork and human factors to engage leaders and entire units in achieving an environment of safety and reliability, while also increasing joy in work.  Pascal Metrics sees intervention as building on high quality metrics and rich analytics.  To this end, Pascal Metrics offers onsite data-driven team training to enhance the quality of communication and collaboration among unit and team members, decreasing the likelihood of medical error.  Baseline metrics of clinical area-specific attitudes and behaviors are generated, which then are evaluated to identify strengths and weaknesses across clinical areas.  The Teamwork Subscription provides ongoing support and, at client option, is integrated with the Cultural Observation Subscription.
